Automation Engineer – DeltaV Systems

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer specializing in DeltaV systems to join our team for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility build project. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DeltaV control systems and experience in applying them to the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in the design, implementation, and optimization of automation systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and implement DeltaV control systems to support new and existing pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. This includes creating control strategies, integrating with other systems, and ensuring system scalability and reliability.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure successful project execution. Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning to system commissioning.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all automation systems comply with FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and other relevant industry standards. Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate controls to maintain compliance.
  • System Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans, conduct system validations, and perform troubleshooting to ensure system functionality and performance meet project requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, design changes, and validation protocols. Prepare and present regular project status reports and updates to stakeholders.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to facility personnel on DeltaV systems and automation processes. Develop user manuals and training materials as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation enhancements. Implement best practices and stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., DeltaV Certified Engineer) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working with DeltaV systems in a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment. Experience with system design, configuration, and validation.
  • Strong knowledge of DeltaV control systems, including hardware and software components. Proficiency in control logic design, process automation, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, GMP, and other relevant industry standards. Experience with validation and compliance in a regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other automation platforms and systems.
  • Project management experience or certifications (e.g., PMP).
  • Advanced knowledge of control system cybersecurity principles
